Instructor is the second PADI professional level, the next level up from Divemaster. Instructors focus on teaching dive skills and are needed to conduct a broad range of programmes for both new and experienced divers.

Instructor courses are run every month and take 2 weeks. You may also want to continue on to become a Master Scuba Diver Trainer level and complete an internship where you start to teach your first students.

What's included

FOLLOW ON - BASIC PACKAGE

PADI Instructor Development Course and preparation

If you take the Basic Package you are responsible for paying all Instructor fees and buying all required materials for the Instructor course once in Thailand.

PADI Instructor Crew Pack - all Instructor manuals and materials required by PADI

INSTRUCTOR ONLY PACKAGES
If you want to take the Instructor course only (you are already a Divemaster), the packages are as described above but also include:
Comprehensive information booklet and travel advice prior to departure
Ticket for the overnight train from Bangkok
7 nights accommodation
Specialist dive insurance - 12 month policy (Inclusive package only)


What's not included
Flights (£400-£500), visa (£25), travel insurance, food and general living costs (£250 per month). For accommodation, good rooms start at about £120 per month.

NB It is a PADI requirement to have a full set of your own dive equipment to become an Instructor. Packages are available in retail dive shops locally.


Master Scuba Diver Trainer
If you are serious about a career as an Instructor, we highly recommend going on to do the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) internship programme which normally runs for 2-6 weeks.

An MSDT is an Instructor with 5 specialties and at least 25 certifications (students you have taught and certified).

Initially you are taught how to conduct lessons in the specialty areas. Then you start the internship which allows you to work with the Instructor team, teaching all levels of courses. Gradually you are given more responsibility and in the final phase you will be independently teaching courses and may have the opportunity to earn your first paid commissions!

The basic MSDT programme is an additional £350 and includes:

5 Instructor Specialties
First 25 certifications
MSDT internship

Or for £650 we provide an inclusive package, also including:

PADI MSDT application fees
PADI MSDT speciality fees (x 5)
PADI MSDT Manual

For the Instructor specialties you can choose from: Deep, Nitrox, Navigation, Night, Search and Recovery, Equipment, Photo, VDO, Digital Photo and DPV.

Our new offices (and studio) are in the UK near London (Richmond) and we are presently looking for 2 key people to join our full-time UnderWater Channel team. They are:

Web Master
Our broadband TV channel will be integral with its related Web 2.0 social networking dive destination. The applicant should be dynamic, switched on and passionate about the web 2.0 and its evolution in both television and social networking. 3+ years of thorough knowledge of browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers is a must and only applicants who are able to prove they have contributed significantly, in a similar job, to another similar business will be considered. Would suit a web'n'dive fanatic who can do the basics in their sleep but wants a stimulating challenge and more contact.
