Divemaster to work Golden Coast Harbour in Pernera Cyprus

We have a position available for a Divemaster to work on our Tourist Boat. It is not a Dive Boat.

At Just Scuba we run a tourist boat from the Golden Coast Harbour in Pernera Cyprus, the trip goes From 10am to 3pm 4 days a week and 10am to 1pm 2 days a week.

The position is Commission only, no wage is payable. We do however offer accommodation, and free diving during the afternoons. There are many bars and clubs in area, where work is available.

Most of the trip is a pure chill out, we stop at 12 for lunch (4 Days a week your lunch in included), this is were you use your Divemaster Skills taking persons down to the beach and giving them an introduction into Scuba Diving. You then return to the boat at 1pm and endeavour to book people on a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience, this is where you earn you commission.

You will be one of the key members of staff and will help create a unique dive/surf/fishing destination, with focus on creating a personalized and relaxed atmosphere which offers a great customer experience.

MUST fulfill the following criteria:
• OUTBOARD mechanical skills - troubleshooting & maintenance for fleet of boats
• PADI MSDT or higher - essential
• Experience in equipment repair & maintenance - essential
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience as a dive instructor
• Excellent people skills –to ensure a ‘family like’ atmosphere at the resort through socializing • Work experience in resorts with knowledge of overall operation & maintenance
• Surf experience would be an advantage (as would UW photography / videography) but not critical, since Waidroka Bay Resort is a Dive & Surf Resort.

With Waidroka Bay Resorts current success and growth in the dive market there is a need for an experienced Sales & Marketing Dive Master / Instructor to be responsible for ensuring Waidroka Bay Resort continues to be at the forefront of Travel Agents agenda and to grow both our TA / Dive shop & Individual Database, as well as reinforcing it’s presence in the local market.

MUST fulfill the following Criteria: Knowing how to sell and communicate with potential customers and TA’s
Creating Dive vacation Packages and Specials and the marketing of such Development and implementation of marketing plans
Internet savvy, Facebook, blogs, chat pages
TA and group diving market knowledge
Database development Preparation and presentation skills, including PowerPoint knowledge

Our Divemaster Internship Program is for non-professional divers who want to pursue a career in the recreational scuba diving industry.

We are looking for people willing to work hard and with an interest in scuba diving. The program will qualify you at the end of the season as a PADI Divemaster - the first professional level qualification. Our program works like this: in exchange for working for us for the summer season, our interns get their dive education - all the way up to PADI Divemaster.

Duties of a Divemaster intern include all aspects of the dive industry from assisting on the dive boat with courses and guided dives, filling scuba tanks, servicing equipment, and equipping divers, to working in the dive shop in sales or office duties. As their education progresses, interns take on duties such as leading groups of qualified divers and assisting instructors with courses. Our interns gain, in addition to many dives by the end of the season, a valuable insight into this industry and experience of dealing with customers including qualified divers, course students and beginners. We ensure that when our interns leave our program, they are fully qualified and experienced professionals, ready to work anywhere in the world as a professional scuba diver.

The learning curve for the courses is quite steep and there's quite a lot of theory to study in addition to the day to day job, so self-motivation is essential. In addition to diving experience, desirable - though not essential - attributes of interns are a full driving license, spoken European languages, media, design and computer skills and sales/retail skills.

You should know from the start that the hours in this industry are long and the work sometimes hard, but if you have a passion for scuba diving and working with people, the rewards are immeasurable. If your goal is a career in the recreational scuba diving industry, this internship will teach you everything you need to know and more.

While we pay for interns accommodation and towards their food costs, they need spending money in addition so having some money saved beforehand is essential. Interns will also need to pay their own travel costs to Greece.
