Divemaster Course
Divemaster is the first level of the PADI Professional ratings. This elite qualification allows you to supervise recreational diving activities, either boat or land based, and to work as an instructional assistant on any PADI courses. As a PADI Divemaster you will hold the minimum rating for employment in the Diving Industry. It is also the minimum pre requisite for enrolment in a PADI Instructor Course (IDC).

We have a very high candidate success rate as well as a reputation for producing well trained Dive Instructors. This course is taught by Alex Van Welderen who is our experienced, award winning, staff Course Director. The program includes a mixture of academic modules, pool training and two days of ocean diving on a Great Barrier Reef island.

Pro Dive Cairns is able to offer long term employment for Diving professionals to work in the following positions:
Dive Supervisors Course Instructors (English, Japanese and German Speaking)
MasterDIVE SUPERVISORS http://www.prodive-cairns.com.au/employment.htmlPrimary responsibility is to co-ordinate and supervise all diving and snorkelling activities and to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers and staff on board any Pro Dive Cairns Dive vessel.
In order to achieve this goal, the Dive Supervisor must take into consideration the different levels of experience of the divers and snorkellers under their supervision, and the effect of prevailing weather conditions on all divers and snorkellers.
The Dive Supervisor's authority on board any dive vessel run by Pro Dive Cairns is second only to the Skipper, yet it is still important that the Dive Supervisor can co-ordinate with other crew members to ensure all dive or snorkel activities are carried out under the safest possible conditions.
In keeping with the high level of professional service we provide, all Dive Supervisors employed at Pro Dive Cairns are required to hold the following Qualifications
Current teaching status as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher rating
A current AS 2299 Diving Medical
A valid/current Senior first aid certification
A valid/current (12 months) certification in Oxygen Resuscitation
A valid motor vehicle driver license, held for a minimum of three years
Instructor specialty rating in the following areas:
Night Diving
Deep Diving
Underwater Photography
Any other PADI Specialty
Occupational Health and Safety at Sea
COURSE INSTRUCTORS (English and German Speaking) http://www.prodive-cairns.com.au/employment.htmlPrimary responsibility extends to all PADI Dive courses conducted on a vessel operated by Pro Dive Cairns. It is also the Course Instructors responsibility to ensure all PADI courses are conducted to the standards as per the PADI Instructor manual.
In keeping with the high level of professional service we provide, all Instructors employed at Pro Dive Cairns are required to hold the following Qualifications
Current teaching status as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher rating
A current AS 2299 Diving Medical
A valid/current Senior first aid certification
A valid/current (12 months) certification in Oxygen Resuscitation
A valid motor vehicle driver license, held for a minimum of three years

MASTERS
The Master is the agent for the owner of the vessel whilst at sea, and has the overall responsibility for the safety and of the vessel, crew and passengers. It is also the Masters responsibility to coordinate with other crewmembers to facilitate the smooth and safe running of all operations away from port.
In order to have a full understanding and appreciation of the dive crews needs, and the requirements of the dive operation in general, the Master needs to make themselves familiar with the job descriptions of all other crew members.
It is also in the Master's duty to ensure the ongoing seamanship training and education of all crew members to keep or bring their skill levels to a point which will maintain sufficient safety for all onboard.
In keeping with the high level of professional service we provide, all Masters employed at Pro Dive Cairns are required to hold the following Qualifications:
Current USL MASTER CLASS 5 or higher rating
Current MED 2 Certification
Occupational Health and Safety at Sea
Current renewed status as a PADI Divemaster or equivalent
Current AS 2299 Diving medical
A valid/current Senior first aid certification
A valid/current (12 months) certification in Oxygen Resuscitation.
APPLICATIONS
In addition to the qualifications shown above, applicants should have most or all of the following skills and personal attributes:
Good knowledge of all PADI courses
Good sales skills
A boating background or sound knowledge of boats and boating skills
Ability to effectively manage people
Excellent communication skills
Excellent team worker
Very customer orientated
Outgoing but not overbearing personality
Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
