Instructor or DM for Egypt

Would you like to come and work in Egypt? We are currently looking Instructor or DMfor our Dive Centres in Marsa Abu Dabab, Hamata, Wadi Lahmy and Makadi Bay. HAve a look at our Website http://www.orca-diveclub.com/ for more info about the dive centres.

Marsa Abu Dabab is located slightly north of Marsa Alam and we have a dive centre right on the beach where we conduct dives on the house reef, excursions with minibus, zodiac dives in the local area and full day boat trips to outer reefs like Samaday (Dolphin House) and other exciting places. On the house reef we have regular visits of Dugong, Shovelnose Ray almost a dozen of huge green turtles and other interesting marine life. We dive with big pelagic (including longimanus and other sharks) on the classic Elphinstone Reef and our daily dive sites are in absolute world class with corals in pristine condition.

We are a well oiled dynamic team and we have fun when we work. The job would consist of teaching diving according to the PADI system, guiding divers on excursion and some dive centre duties.

Let me also give you a bit of information regarding the position in Makadi Bay. Orca Dive Club - Makadi Bay is located almost exactly in the middle between Hurghada and Safaga. Makadi Bay is a big purpose built tourist resort area with loads of hotels. We operate in a hotel called Stella Makadi where we are located right on the beach. The hotel has about 700 rooms and an average occupancy is around 700 to 1200 guests/week and a bit more during big holidays and peak seasons.

The daily work for an Instructor consists of teaching courses, guiding daily divers on house reef and from boats, promotional try dives in the pool, conduct DSDs plus dive centre duties.

Our staff all lives in Safaga even if the distance to Hurghada is about the same. We have a staff transfer from Safaga in the morning and back in the evening. Most people like to have their own flat which costs between 700 and 1.200 LE (Egy pound)/month (€1=7.3 LE).

I don’t know how much you know about the typical dive industry in the Egyptian Red Sea. The Makadi/Safaga area is in my pinion one of the better parts. We have wicked dive sites with beautiful hard coral gardens, sheer walls covered with soft coral and gorgonian fans, world famous wrecks plus both big fish and macro life. Safaga itself has somewhat been “missed” by the touristy bulldozer and left the town rather genuine and pleasant to live in.

For the job in Makadi we are looking for someone that can fill the position fairly soon, preferably to be here this week. If you are interested to join us send me an email with some information as to which position, when you could be available and what your salary expectations would be.
