DIVER TECHNICIAN
Dragone - City of Dreams

Description:
Reporting to the Head of Aquatics. The Diver Technician will participate to establish and perform underwater show cue tracks related to scenery movement, performer support and safety. Maintain pool related systems, as well as dive and aquatics related equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible / Accountable
Maintain safe and consistent operations for show rehearsals and performances;
Perform show cue tracks
Maintain and enforce safe diving practices
Work with novice divers and performers until they feel comfortable working in a water environment.
Support
Assist in inspecting, assembling and maintaining all aspects of equipment for training, rehearsals, performances, and special events; maintain all dive gear.
Participate in pre-set, performance, and post-set of show equipment.
Objectives:
Competencies
Ability to learn or update life saving skills and/or become CPR/first responder;
Ability to stay calm and calm others in emergency situations.;
Must possess problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills with proven talents in safety and teamwork;
Must have excellent verbal communication skills;
Ability to work extended hours, nights and week-ends;
Ability to withstand long exposure to water;
Demonstrates effective problem solving skills;
Experience in mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and high pressure systems;
Ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent;
Professional level diving certification with a minimum of Divemaster level for recreational diving.
Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in professional SCUBA diving.
Other Skills
Other tasks as assigned ;
Must be fluent in the English language;
Knowledge of MS Windows and MS office systems;
Knowledge and certifications in Scuba diving equipment maintenance and repairs.

Duties: The Dive & Waterfront Coordinator will be responsible for maintenance and operation of a fully fitted dive center and fleet of boats. Primary duties include teaching PADI Open Water dive course to Island School (www.islandschool.org) and DCMS (www.dcmsbahamas.org) students, as well as courses for visiting groups. Also, servicing all dive gear and compressor.

Furthermore, the Dive & Waterfront Coordinator will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of a fleet of six vessels ranging from 14ft skiff to a 42ft research/dive vessel. Must be a self-motivator and enjoy working hands on to build up an operational dive center. Qualifications & Experience: Seeking an individual with: PADI OWSI certification as a minimum Experience piloting boats up to 45’ Experience maintaining a variety of marine engines including two and four stroke outboards, small diesel inboards and large commercial diesel inboards. The UnderWaterChannel is a new broadband TV channel that will become the leading online destination for the diving enthusiast and for a wider audience sharing a common interest in learning and exploring life beneath the surface of the world’s oceans. The company is currently seeking to recruit a Webmaster. The UnderWaterChannel is a start-up with significant investment backing within the industry whose business model is advertising and sponsorship initially.


Job Summary

The WebMaster will be responsible for the management of the site, community, its interfaces with platform provider, ad servers, ad traffic and mechanics of advertising opportunities. They will Track and report on community engagement and interaction and ensures website is frequently refreshed, new and lively and relevant. Reports back, also tracks effectiveness of partnerships, online advertising, SEO, SEM, affiliate marketing, promotion, email marketing etc.


Job Scope

Reports to the Online Commercial Sales Director


Responsibilities


o Manage the website and broadband TV feed, ensuring limited or no downtime
o Liaise with and manage third party suppliers including all website administration and registration.
o Advise on improvements and new developments which would enrich the consumer experience
o Advise and make recommendation on the latest trends in internet TV and website
o Ensure all SEO tools are optimally used
o Ensure the ‘look and feel’ of the site is consistent with the design guidelines developed in association with the Marketing Director.
o Manage (possibly moderate) the social functions of the site (including forums, blogs, email, YouDive UGC, and other social contact tools which you might help develop)
o Use and enhance a content management platform for the website, driven by business requirements.
o Perform maintenance of website on an ad hoc basis
o Assess and manage costs for website enhancements and modifications
o Liaise with website builders/developers/hosts (based in Italy)
o Develop the creation of a comprehensive editorial and graphics layout for new sections and features of the site
o Form part of the team to evolve corporate brand guidelines to maximise the online customer experience
o Assess new standards, technologies and formulate recommendations to incorporate these within the internet infrastructure
o Maintenance or management all hardware including servers and switches
o Management of all server based services (e-mail, firewalls and other software)
o Complete backup and emergency recovery of all proprietary content on servers





Essential Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required

o Passionate about web 2.0 and its evolution in both television and social networking
o Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
o Experience of developing static and dynamic websites
o Understanding of the design and development of database solutions
o Good and thorough knowledge of web technologies, protocols and tools including working
o Familiarity with streaming video and technical issues
o Good project management skills
o An interest in diving would be beneficial.

Knowledge of most of the following:
o HTML, XHTML, DHTML
o Java Script, JSPE
